About Our Practice
Our History over the last two decades
2002 : Deborah Millington and Alan Rogerson took over Gilman Wallwork and Tarran and established Hargreaves Gilman.
2004 : We acquired Carole Bales' practice.
2009 : We acquired Simon Townsend's practice.
2015 : We acquired Mr Peacock's practice, Hargreaves & Co of Withington.
[The latter acquisition is a reunion after 17 years apart - Alan and Deborah were partners in Hargreaves & Co when the two offices in Withington and Didsbury decided to separate in 1998.]
2016 : Solicitor Tony Learoyd joins us.
2017 : Alan retires, leaving Deborah as the sole and proud owner of Hargreaves Gilman.
2020/1 : Covid
- We made the decision to invest in remote working equipment (laptops, printers, VOIP phones etc) well before the first lockdown was announced, and continued to operate seamlessly throughout - same phone number, same service, staff working from home when needed - not a single day was lost due to lockdowns.
- We built a segregated walled & glazed meeting room with a client-only entrance to allow compliant consultation in complete safety.
- We became one of the very few Solicitors practices to build and operate our website entirely in-house so we could keep clients up to date - instantly.
2023 : Solicitor Faye Scragg joins us. We celebrate 21 years of serving our clients.
2024 : Faye joins Deborah as a Director. We expand the Conveyancing department with Angie Fergus, Kirsty Posthuma, Joanne Waits & Receptionist Maysie Taylor joining the team.
2025 : Expansion of the Wills & Probate department.
